There were four abortion appointments yesterday at American Family Planning. Once again, we noted a car with a rosary hanging from the windshield. Its occupants told us that there was nothing wrong with “family planning.” Another couple did leave before the abortionist arrived. Sidewalk counselors at Summit gave out every envelope that they had. We will wait to see what calls we receive this week.
Later in the morning we visited Rita, Juanita and Ana and Carmelo. Rita’s husband had been working on their house with paint we had provided. Juanita was sick. We went out and got some groceries for her three children. At Ana and Carmelo’s we met a plumber who will be bringing water supply into the kitchen. The problem remained, however, that there was no sink or cabinets of any kind. I decided that this state of affairs had gone on long enough for this family of 10–so off we went to buy the needed materials. The asbestos in the house was removed last week and the furnace replaced. And, finally, after having been sick all winter, and after multiple visits to medical clinics, Ana and Carmelo’s infant son was taken to a hospital and diagnosed with pneumonia. He’s on the proper medication now and is much better. Thanks to all who responded to our appeal on their behalf.
