For the third Saturday in a row, the parking lot was full at the abortuary. Three of the appointments left; we did speak to everyone going in, and I think about half or a little more took our envelope. I don’t know if those three were turn-aways. I just don’t know.
Had a long conversation with one of the boyfriends yesterday. His first position was that he just didn’t care, it wasn’t his “job” to worry about anyone else. Yet he continued to talk to us, even to look at the photographs of the unborn, living and aborted. (One of the clinic workers, by the way, took that pamphlet and threw it away. Pro-choice?)
A woman whom we turned away from the mill last summer called us yesterday. She was recently asked to leave the place where she had been staying. She is in her own place now, but she has nothing–no food, no utensils or pans, no refrigerator. We will go back in today to give her whatever we can.
