Although the abortuary was open this morning, the abortionist did not show up. Two women entered while we were there, but neither was there for an abortion. After leaving, we met with Hope, a woman whom Patrick talked to last weekend and who, we later learned, did indeed leave the abortion facility after we had left. Even though she has four children, she has no place of her own. Two of her children live with other families because Hope cannot take care of them right now. She has a 9 month-old and her unborn child with her. We are going to help her get into an apartment and Patrick is going to give her a computer. If I got the story right, before a serious auto accident in 1999 she was taking computer classes. Everything she learned then is out of date; and now, for the sake of employment, she wants to refresh her skills. We next visited Tabitha, delivering to her a twin bed. She showed us pictures of the ultrasound she had on Thursday. (One of our helpers drove all the way from Ann Arbor to pick Tabitha up in Detroit to take her to an ultrasound in Grosse Pointe.) The pictures were very clear; in one of them the baby even seemed to be waving to the camera. So, despite the rain, it was a good day. Thank God–Thank you all.
