March 27, 2008

It was a two-for-the-price-of-one sale at the abortion mill last week. We went on Holy Thursday because the mill is usually closed on Good Friday. (The abortionist is a deacon at an Episcopal church.) We talked to a young Arab woman, but she went into the abortuary anyway and remained there a long time. She was still there when we left, so I thought we had lost the baby. She called us, though, the next day to tell us that she had decided against the abortion–and that she was pregnant with twins.

We returned on Holy Saturday and it seemed that business would be back to its usual pace; by 7:50 there were five or six clients waiting for the doors to open. At 7:55 they were still waiting, and at 8:00…8:15…8:30. The staff never showed up. We had several long talks with those waiting in the parking lot, and all of them eventually left. I am especially hopeful for one–a 42 year-old woman who was convinced that she was just too old for more kids. On the other hand, she agreed with everything we told her.

Alma, her daughters, and her new son, Eduardo, spent the week after her caesarean with the Wong family. The mother and the baby were properly pampered. The mother, especially, needed pampering; she had lost a lot of blood during the surgery. Feeling up to manage her own household again, she and her family went back to Detroit this past Tuesday.

But we need to pay her rent! We need to pay several rents. Not only are we broke, but we owe two of the Guadalupe Partners about $2,000. Help!
