A chill seems to have set into the heart of the mothers. Both Friday and Saturday of last week were busy–seven or eight abortions each day. Perhaps more alarming, though, was the fact that none of the mothers stopped to listen to us.
We met Friday night with the group from New Boston that has been helping us this winter. We agreed on some basic principles to guide our work at the abortuary. They will be focusing on the weekdays, while we “westerners” (the original Guadalupe Partners from Canton, Ann Arbor, South Lyon) will continue to focus on the weekends and do the bulk of the follow-up work.
We drove out to Warren Saturday to visit T. and J. and their seven. They are in their new house in their new neighborhood. It’s a big improvement–more room, a family-friendly area. When we first arrived, the children one by one came running down the stairs to shout “Thank you!”
