Today it was very cold; and in keeping with experiences of other years, in numbers the abortion mill was kind of looking like its old self. As we approach Christmas, the numbers at the abortion mill will go up. Easter season will also see an increase of abortions. But, even though six clients went in today, four came out. Two of them had definitely changed their minds. One of those, a Hispanic woman, told us that she had been to the abortion mill twice before. The last time, she told us, the hospital had sent her there in order to have her “stomach cleaned.” The abortionist charged her two hundred for that. Perhaps the hospital thought a Catholic, Hispanic woman might not be comfortable with the term abortion. Apparently, then, it blanketed the real nature of the procedure under an inoffensive term like “stomach cleaning.” We have made an appointment for her with a real physician in Ann Arbor.
Another woman who left today is one to whom we’ve been talking all week. She came to the abortion mill, originally, a week ago, when another prolifer met her, took her phone number, then handed the number on to us. Since our conversations with her had all been by telephone, we didn’t know what she looked like. At the front door of the mill, however, I heard her addressed by her boyfriend as Christie, and I of course wondered if she was the same Christie we had been talking to. Alicia then called Christie’s number, did actually speak to her, and was told that her mother had agreed to help with the baby and she was no longer considering abortion. We concluded, then, that it had to be a different Christie inside of the abortion mill. About a half hour later, though, the prolifer who had taken her number the week before arrived, and when he saw her sitting inside when the door once opened, he affirmed that it was the same girl. She did leave this morning without procuring an abortion, but in a text message she told us to leave her alone. She added that she was scheduled to abort on Monday.
Another mystery of the morning is the bullet hole that appeared in the front door of the mill. We have seen irate clients at the abortion mill. Is this bullet hole left by one of them?
