“Housing” has been the theme for the last two weeks. Two of our mothers have been on the point of eviction. A friend of Guadalupe Partners paid initial costs to secure a one bedroom apartment for one mother. The other mother, however, had to go to a motel. I’m not exactly sure of what her status is right now, but I will find out by the end of the day. A family that we rescued from abortion a year and a half ago is again pregnant and was, again, considering abortion. We met with them last week and, again, assured them of our help. With this family, too, one of the key issues is housing. They have seven children now in a smaller three bedroom apartment. The mother in this family works as a nursing assistant while the father stays home with the children. The mother, however, was laid off a month ago; and if the father goes to work, the state will garnish his wages as compensation for child support. They need a much larger home, but have not been able to keep up with the rent even on their present home. And, finally, there is a fourth mom who will lose her maternity rights unless she–within a matter of days–secures her own apartment. At this point, we can do nothing for any of them. As an organization, we are flat broke. I gave our last $300.00 to help T. and J. catch up on their rent payments–even though that $300.00 paid only half of what they owe.

This trailer is actually in the manufacture monthly it need carpet and painting done that is all I know that it needs. Also I just called and left a message. The courts are saying if I don’t show extentual improvement on my case they are look to terminate.. Please if I can do anything let me know.. I have been working everyday and I am trying to get my truck fixed with the heating.. I am trying my best with everything and it just seems that I am not making it on my own in trying to get into a place. I can get a lot of the stuff to fix up any trailer or any home for little or nothing that is not the problem. Also I have a lot of friends that know how to do construction and fixing up places and they are willing to help me with what ever I need.
